Porthole Cottage is in Allonby, right on the seafront. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. You go through a gate at the end of the yard and you're on the beach in about fifty paces.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. The place gets a lot of light from roof windows. The main room has a wood burning stove.
There are two pubs in the village. The nearest is just across the road, about a hundred yards. The village shop and a tea room are a short walk away.
The beach is long and sandy. You look out over the Solway Firth to the hills in Scotland. It's part of the Lake District National Trust area. For a bigger day out, you can drive into the Lake District National Park. It's about ten miles to the edge of it. Bassenthwaite Lake is sixteen miles away. The Lake District Wildlife Park is nearby too.
For facilities, there's off-road parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. It says pets are allowed, up to three.
