Berwyn Bank

This is Berwyn Bank. It's one of three cottages here on the site in Arkleby, near Aspatria. It sleeps twelve quite comfortably, over six bedrooms. There are five bathrooms so you're not all queuing. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's in good order.

The cottage is detached. You've got your own enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. There's a hot tub. The other two cottages, Halls Bank Farm and Beckside, are right next door if you need more space for a big group.

The stairs are normal. There's a stairgate at the top for little ones. We provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive.

Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is here but it's countryside broadband, so it's fine for browsing but don't expect to stream on five devices at once.

The local pub is about half a mile away, decent for a meal. The nearest shop is two miles in Aspatria.

You're a few miles from the Solway Coast. The beach at Allonby is about four miles. It's good for long walks with the dogs. Silloth is a bit further along, that's a proper little Victorian seaside town with a promenade. There's private salmon and trout fishing on the River Ellen, a mile away.

Cockermouth is six miles east. It's a nice market town. Wordsworth's childhood home is there, run by the National Trust.

If you head into the Lakes, Bassenthwaite Lake is about six miles south. Keswick is fourteen miles, on Derwentwater. They've got all the outdoor stuff there: canoe hire, paddleboarding. Buttermere is twelve miles. The scenery is stunning.

There's a heated swimming pool you can book privately, within walking distance of the cottage. Golf and horse riding are nearby too.
