The Old Byre
The Old Byre is a barn conversion on our dairy farm in Dovenby. It's a modern conversion with oak beams. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one king-size and one twin, plus two bathrooms downstairs. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and has things like the hot tub.
The kitchen and dining area are open plan. There's a separate living room. The patio doors open onto your own private patio. The hot tub is out there.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see and hear the cows. The views are over fields towards the Lake District.
A cottage called Little Meadow is attached. You can book them together if you're a larger group. Otherwise, it's just your lot.
Facilities include bedding, towels, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. No pets, sorry.
The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away. There's a pub and restaurant a bit closer, just over a mile.
Cockermouth is three miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and places to eat. The Jennings Brewery is there if you fancy a tour.
You're well placed for the coast and the lakes. Maryport and the Solway coast are about five miles west. The Lake District National Park starts a short drive east. Keswick is about a twenty-minute drive. Bassenthwaite Lake and the Lakes Distillery are on the way.
