Tanner's Cottage is in Cockermouth, near the top end of the main street. It's a mid-terrace, 18th century place, so the walls are thick and it feels solid. Modernised inside but it's still a cottage. Sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after.
The garden is enclosed and gets the sun in the afternoon. It's small but it's yours. There's parking for one car right outside.
You're about five minutes' walk from the middle of town. There's a good few pubs, restaurants, and shops there. Wordworth's birthplace is just down the road if that's your thing. For basics, the Co-op is handy.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Bassenthwaite Lake is about ten minutes' drive. Keswick is twenty minutes. Buttermere and Crummock Water are maybe twenty-five, depending on traffic. The fells are basically on your doorstep.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: Wi-Fi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. It's set up for Christmas stays with decorations.
