Tanner's Cottage

Tanner's Cottage is in Cockermouth. That's a Georgian market town on the edge of the Lakes. It's an 18th century terraced cottage, updated but still feels like a cottage.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating which is nice and means it's comfortable.

The cottage is about a five minute walk from the middle of town. There are shops, pubs and restaurants there. You're not driving for a pint.

From here you can get into the Lake District proper quite easily. Keswick is about 12 miles. Buttermere is 10. Bassenthwaite Lake and Whinlatter Forest are only about three miles away, which is good for walks or mountain biking.

In Cockermouth itself, there's Wordsworth House and Gardens, which is National Trust. There's also the castle ruins and some distilleries if that's your thing.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, an enclosed patio garden with a BBQ, and WiFi. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. All your electric is in the price. No pets, sorry.
