Ghillie Cottage is in Cockermouth. It's part of an old chapel that's been converted. There are six places in the building, but this one is yours. It's set back from the road in a shared courtyard. It's quiet.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One's a double, one's a twin. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been refurbished, so it's in good order.
The stairs are a spiral staircase. It looks nice but it's quite tight. Watch your head as you go up.
The place is named for the fishing. The family owns the fishing rights on the River Derwent. If you've got a National Rod Licence, you can fish on their stretch. I can send you the details if you want.
Cockermouth town centre is a short walk away. There's a supermarket about 3 minutes on foot. A couple of pubs are the same distance. Wordsworth's House, which is run by the National Trust, is just down the road.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District. Keswick is about a 20-minute drive. Bassenthwaite Lake is 5 miles. Whinlatter Forest and Buttermere are both within half an hour by car.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV in each bedroom, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. No pets.
