Ghillie Cottage is in Cockermouth. It's an apartment on the ground floor, one of a few in a converted chapel. You get your own front door from a private courtyard. It's set back from the road so it's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin, and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are a spiral staircase. They look nice, but they're steep and a bit tight.
Cockermouth town centre is a short walk away. There are supermarkets, pubs, and the usual shops. The Wordsworth House is about five minutes on foot. There's a local leisure centre if you want a swim.
The cottage is named because the family own fishing rights on the River Derwent. If you have a rod licence, you can fish their beat. I can give you the details if you're interested.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District. Bassenthwaite Lake is about a ten minute drive. Keswick is about twenty minutes. The coast at places like Allonby is about half an hour. Lake District National Park has all the walking routes. Whinlatter Forest is good for cycling.
For facilities: there's parking in the courtyard, WiFi, a washing machine, and a cot available. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
