Melbreak is a terraced cottage in High Lorton, which is a small village in Cumbria. It's part of a row.
The house sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well equipped. It's an upside-down layout, which means the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the living space is upstairs. The reason for that is the view. From the first-floor living room you get a good look up and down the valley. It's a nice, open space.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a coffee machine. There's a separate utility room with a washing machine. Outside, there's a garden area with a picnic bench and parking for two cars.
The village has a small shop about 350 yards away. There's a pub and restaurant three quarters of a mile from the cottage. For a bigger shop or more places to eat, Cockermouth is about five miles away. Keswick is about eight miles.
You're right in the Lake District here. For walking, you're close to Crummock Water and Buttermere. Whinlatter Forest is about four miles away. They have walking trails, a Gruffalo trail for kids, and a Go Ape course. You can hire bikes there.
