The Old Post Office

The Old Post Office is in Loweswater. It's a detached cottage, so no neighbours attached. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's a high standard. We renovated it a few years ago.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms. Two doubles upstairs and a twin room on the ground floor. One bathroom, upstairs. It has a bath and a separate shower.

Downstairs is mostly one big room: kitchen, dining, and living area. There are big doors out to the garden. There's also a separate sitting room with a wood burner. The stairs are standard, not particularly steep for a cottage.

The garden is enclosed. There's a patio, a lawn, and a summerhouse. Parking for a couple of cars.

The local pub, the Kirkstile Inn, is about a five-minute walk. They brew their own beer and do food. Loweswater lake is about a mile away for a walk. Crummock Water is about the same distance the other way.

You're right in the walking country here. Mellbreak is right there. For bigger walks, the fells around Buttermere like High Stile are a short drive. You can drive over Whinlatter Pass to Keswick in about twenty minutes. Cockermouth is about fifteen minutes away for shops.

In the house: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and TV. There's bike storage. No pets, sorry.
