Knock Murton Lodge is in Crossgates, outside Cockermouth. It's a timber lodge. The views are good. You can see fields and the Western Fells.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms: one double, one with bunk beds. One bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. The whole thing is on one level, so no stairs to worry about. There's parking right outside.
It's got a wood burner in the open plan living area. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
Outside there's a garden that's enclosed. It has a barbecue, a hot tub, and a sauna. They're there if you want them.
The location is quiet. The nearest pub is about a mile and three quarters away. The shop is a bit further. You're about five miles from Loweswater lake, and Cockermouth town is about eight miles. Whitehaven and the coast are within about half an hour's drive.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Ennerdale is a short drive away and it's one of the quieter valleys. The Lake District National Park site has maps and route ideas. If you're interested in the local history, Wordsworth House in Cockermouth is worth a visit.
No pets allowed, sorry.
