Knock Murton Lodge

Knock Murton Lodge is a timber lodge near Crossgates, on the edge of the western Lake District. It's detached, so it's just you. The main view is over fields, which is nice.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One double room and one with bunk beds. The bathroom is on the ground floor. It has a four star rating, so it's well equipped. The living space is open plan with a wood burner. There's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The kitchen and bathroom are modern.

Outside there's a private garden, a barbecue, and an outdoor fireplace. The hot tub and sauna are private for your use. There's on site parking and the main entrance is wheelchair accessible.

The location is quiet. The nearest pub is about a mile and three quarters away. The shop is a bit further. If you want to walk from the door, you're less than two miles from the edge of the Lake District National Park. For a drive, Loweswater lake is about five miles. The scenery around there, through to Buttermere and Crummock Water, is very good.

Ennerdale is six miles away. It's a quiet valley. Whitehaven on the coast is seven or eight miles, with a harbour and shops. Cockermouth is eight miles, with places like Wordsworth House and Jennings Brewery if that's your sort of thing.
