Catbells is in Winder, over near the west coast. It's a little terraced cottage, part of a quiet row.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, with a double and twins. One bathroom downstairs with a shower over the bath. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean without being fancy. The stairs in these cottages are usually a bit steep, and this one is no different.
You're on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. The village of Frizington is close, with a shop and pubs. Whitehaven is about five miles away for bigger supermarkets and things like the swimming pool. It's a handy town.
The nearest bit of the Lake District proper is about four miles. Ennerdale Water is five miles from the door. It's a quiet valley, good for spotting red squirrels. Loweswater and Crummock are a short drive beyond that.
The coast is the other way. St Bees Head is about eight miles. Good for a beach walk with the dogs.
Within half an hour's drive you can get to places like the miniature railway at Ravenglass, or over to Wasdale if you're thinking about Scafell Pike.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The property accepts up to two dogs.
