This is Rose Cottage, on the farm's driveway. It's a detached sandstone cottage. There are two, but you'd have this one to yourselves. It sleeps four. There are two double bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean, comfortable, and everything works, but it's not a show home. It's got character. The stairs are normal cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. It's a proper one, so it gets warm. The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
Outside, there's a garden with a patio and some furniture. It gets the morning sun. You're on a working dairy farm, so you'll see the cows in the fields. It's quiet, aside from the birds and the cows. You can park on the drive.
Bigrigg village is about half a mile away. There's a shop and a pub there. The pub does food. For a town, Egremont is two and a half miles. It has a few shops and the ruins of a Norman castle.
The coast is three miles away at St Bees. It's a long sandy beach. That's also where the Coast to Coast walk starts. You're right between the coast and the Lake District National Park, so you can choose. Ennerdale Water is about seven miles. Buttermere and Borrowdale are within half an hour's drive. Scafell Pike is a bit further, but you can get to the starting points within about forty minutes if you want a big walk.
For days out, the Ravenglass and Eskdale miniature railway is about a thirty minute drive south. Whitehaven harbour is about twenty minutes north. No pets, sorry.
