Kingswood is in Whitehaven, about a fifteen minute walk from the harbour. It's a detached Victorian house, so it's got high ceilings and big windows. It feels light. You get a decent sized garden with a deck, good for sitting out.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower. Two are good doubles, there's a twin, and a room with bunk beds. It's a 4 Star, so it's well looked after. The stairs are typical for an old house, a bit tall.
You're close to town. There's a shop, a pub, and places to eat about five minutes walk away. Whitehaven harbour is interesting, with The Beacon Museum and The Rum Story. The swimming pool and sports centre are a short drive.
For a beach, St Bees is about ten minutes by car. It's a long sandy beach and the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The headland there is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Lake District National Park starts about a five mile drive away. Ennerdale Water is close and feels very quiet. Wasdale, with Scafell Pike, is a bit further. For a good day out, you can drive to Loweswater and walk through to Buttermere.
What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner, TV, WiFi, all the bedding and towels. Parking for two cars on the drive. You can bring up to four dogs.
