This is The Byres Methera. It's an apartment on the first floor of a converted barn in St Bees. Right in the village, basically a field away from the main street.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, a bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-finished. Underfloor heating everywhere keeps it warm.
The layout is open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all together. It was done up recently, so everything feels clean and new. There's a TV in the bedroom as well as the living area.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep in the fields. The farm track runs right past, so you might hear a tractor sometimes.
Location wise, you can't beat it for the village. The train station, a shop, a couple of pubs and a restaurant are all within two or three minutes' walk. St Bees Head and the beach are about a 15-20 minute walk down the lane. The beach is sandy and good for dogs.
It's famous as the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The path starts at the beach. If you drive, you're about 20 minutes from the western edge of the Lake District. Ennerdale Water is the closest lake, it's very quiet. Wasdale and Scafell Pike are about 40 minutes by car.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
This place can be booked with the other two apartments next door if you're coming with more people.
