The Byres Methera is one of three apartments we've made in an old barn on our farm at the edge of St Bees. It's on the first floor. It sleeps two, with one bedroom and one bathroom.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well put together. There's underfloor heating, which works well. The kitchen is part of the living area. The bedroom has a kingsize bed.
The barn is right by the farmyard, so you'll see us and the animals coming and going. It's not remote. The front door is about 50 yards from the pub, 100 yards from a restaurant, and 160 yards from the village shop. The train station is a couple of hundred yards away too.
St Bees beach is about a three-quarter mile walk. It's a good sandy beach for a stroll. Dogs are welcome, up to two.
This is the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The path up to the Headland is well worth it for the views. St Bees Head is National Trust. You can drive into the Lake District. Ennerdale Water is about ten miles, and it's quieter than some of the other lakes. Scafell Pike is accessible from Wasdale, which is about eighteen miles drive.
For facilities, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside.
If you're coming with more people, this apartment can be booked with the other two in the barn.
