Highland Cottage is a bungalow just outside Whitehaven. It's detached and on one level, so the steps aren't a problem. You can park several cars on the drive.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. There are a couple of fruit trees and a greenhouse. Inside, it's straightforward. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so no queueing. The living room is open plan and gets the sun.
It's about a mile from Whitehaven town centre. The harbour area is nice for a stroll. There's a museum called The Beacon if the weather turns. You've got supermarkets and places to eat close by.
You're well placed for the coast. St Bees Head and the beach are a short drive. That's also where the Coast to Coast walk starts.
The western edge of the Lake District is about five miles away. Ennerdale Water is probably the closest lake. It's quiet and good for a walk. From there you can get to places like Buttermere.
For facilities, it's all there: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
