The Byres Tethera

The Byres Tethera is a first floor flat in a barn on our farm in St Bees. It's one of three flats in the same building. The barn's been done up recently, so everything's clean and works properly. It's got a 4 Star rating.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. There's underfloor heating, which is good when you come in from the wind. The main room is open plan: kitchen, sitting area, and a table. You get a TV, WiFi, and a washing machine.

You're right on the edge of the farm. There are animals about, so you'll hear them. The stairs up to the flat are a normal flight.

The village centre is about a minute's walk. There's a shop 160 yards away, a pub 50 yards away, and a restaurant about 100 yards away. The train station is also 200 yards away. The beach is a three quarter mile walk down the lane. It's sandy and good for dogs.

St Bees is the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The coastal path here goes up St Bees Head, which is good for seeing seabirds. The old priory is a five minute walk from the flat.

You're about a ten mile drive from the western edge of the Lake District. Ennerdale Water is the closest lake. Wasdale Head, for Scafell Pike, is about 18 miles by road. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is a short drive south.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site.

If you're looking for walks or things to do, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park, National Trust St Bees Head, and Coast to Coast Walk.
