The Byres Tethera

The Byres Tethera is a first-floor apartment in a converted barn on the edge of a working farm. It's in St Bees village, about a ten-minute walk from the beach.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern, clean, and warm. Underfloor heating throughout. The layout is open-plan, so it's all one space for living, cooking, and eating.

The front door is shared with the other two apartments. You'll see people coming and going. The farm is active, so you'll hear and see farm things.

You're right in the village. The local shop is a two-minute walk. There's a pub 50 yards away. The train station is about 200 yards from your door, which is handy.

The beach is good sand and shingle. Dogs are allowed. St Bees Head is the start of the Wainwright Coast to Coast walk. You can pick it up from the beach.

For a day out, Ennerdale Water is a 20-minute drive. It's quiet and less visited. From there, you can be in the heart of the Lake District National Park pretty quickly. The west coast lakes like Wastwater aren't far. If you want a steam train, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is about a 40-minute drive.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV in the bedroom as well. Parking is on site. I can provide a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs.
