The Byres Tan is in St Bees, right on the street. It's a ground-floor apartment in a converted barn. There's a working farm next door, so you might hear tractors or see sheep in the field opposite sometimes.
It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed, the other is a single. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and clean, with underfloor heating. The layout is all open-plan, so it's easy if you've got kids or anyone who finds stairs difficult.
You're right in the village. The local pub is about 50 yards away, a shop is 160 yards. St Bees beach is about three quarters of a mile down the hill.
St Bees Head is the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The headland is good for walks and seabirds. The Lake District National Park is about a 10-mile drive. Ennerdale Water is the nearest lake, it's quiet and less developed. For a bigger day out, Wasdale Head and Scafell Pike are about 18 miles. There's a 9-hole golf course in the village too.
The train station is 200 yards away. You can get the train to Whitehaven or up the coast to places like St Bees Head without having to drive.
Facilities: parking on site, washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Up to two dogs are welcome.
This apartment can be booked with the other ones in the same barn if you're in a bigger group.
