Seaside Cottage is in Coulderton on the Cumbrian coast. It's a detached bungalow, all on one floor. The beach is a quiet, non-touristy one right out the front. You get good sunsets and it's very dark at night, so the stars are clear.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. Two of them look out to sea. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's heated for year-round use.
The whole front of the cottage is a sun room. You sit in there and watch the sea, which is just a few yards away. You can hear it from the bedrooms too.
A couple of things to know. The property is down half a mile of rough track, so you drive carefully on that last bit. Also, there's a single-track railway line on an embankment behind the back garden. Trains aren't frequent, but you will hear and see them sometimes.
You can walk straight onto the beach. For supplies, the nearest shop and pubs are about two and a half miles away in the village.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. We accept one pet.
In terms of things to do, you're on the coast for walking straight away. St Bees Head is good for that. For the Lakes, you're about a 30-minute drive from the western fells. Ennerdale and Wasdale are over that way. Ravenglass, with its little steam railway, is close. Muncaster Castle is near there too for a visit. Whitehaven's marina is worth a look.
The facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There's bike storage if you need it and parking on site.
