Wyndham Cottage

Wyndham Cottage is in Ullock, between Cockermouth and Ennerdale. It's a detached, single-storey barn conversion, so it's all on one level. The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs or kids. There's plenty of parking.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. One has a double bed, the other has bunk beds and a single. They did it up a few years ago, so it's in good condition. It's got a 4 Star rating.

Inside, it's mostly one big room. The kitchen's at one end, then the dining table, then the sitting area by the wood burner. The whole south wall is a big window. The view looks straight out over the fields towards the fells. You can see Burnbank Fell and Blake Fell.

There's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and highchair in if you need them. You're welcome to bring up to two dogs.

The local pub, the Rangers, is just over a mile away. They do food. The nearest shop is in Cockermouth, about four miles. Cockermouth has proper supermarkets, pubs, and a few good places to eat.

You're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The roads are quiet. For walking, you can go up onto the fells from the door. Loweswater is a short drive. The coast at Maryport or Allonby is about half an hour away.
