Highpark is in Loweswater. It's a little stone barn converted into a cottage. It's attached to our farmhouse, so we're in the other half, but the garden and patio are private for you.
It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The kitchen and living space are open plan. It's got a woodburning stove, which is nice in the evenings. There's a dishwasher and washing machine.
The building is old, so the stairs are steep and winding. That's how it is. The lane up to the place is narrow for the last bit. Normal cars are fine, you just go slow.
The view is the thing. You look straight out over Crummock Water to the fells. The garden catches the sun in the afternoon.
You can walk from the door. There's a path to Loweswater lake, or you can head up Melbreak if you want something steeper. The village pub is about half a mile down the lane.
Buttermere village is a short drive, maybe ten minutes. Keswick is about half an hour. Cockermouth, where you’ll find the main shops, is about twenty minutes.
