Highpark
This is Highpark. It's a small old barn we converted on our farm in Loweswater. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The barn is down our farm track, separate from the main house. You'll have your own garden and patio out the back. The views look right over Crummock Water to the fells. It's quiet.
It's listed, so the walls are thick. The main room is open plan. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. The wifi works, but it's the countryside so it's not super fast.
You can walk straight from the door. There's a path down to the lake shore at Crummock Water. Melbreak is the fell right behind the farm if you want a proper climb. We see red squirrels here quite often.
The nearest pub is about half a mile down the lane in the village. The nearest shop for a big shop is in Cockermouth, about a 15 minute drive.
Buttermere village is a ten minute drive one way. Keswick is about half an hour the other way. You're right in the western part of the Lake District National Park.
Things to know: the water comes from our own spring. It's perfectly safe, but it's very soft. The lane to the farm is a bit bumpy. That's just how it is up here.
