Fell View

It's called Fell View. It's a detached stone cottage in Low Lorton, which is a quiet village in Cumbria.

The cottage sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is downstairs. It has a Three Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped but not high-end.

The living room has a wood burner. It works well. There's a proper garden with a patio area, which gets the sun in the afternoon. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The village pub is about a hundred yards up the road. It's the Lorton Inn. They do food. The nearest shop is a small one in High Lorton, about ten minutes walk.

You're in a good spot for the Western Lakes. Keswick is about a twenty minute drive over the Whinlatter Pass. Cockermouth is closer, maybe twelve minutes by car. That's where the nearest big supermarket is, and it's got plenty of pubs and places to eat.

For walking, you can start from the door. There's a bus stop in the village if you want to do a linear walk. Whinlatter Forest Park is ten minutes up the road. It's good for mountain biking and forest walks. There's a Go Ape there if that's your thing.

Useful links: Lake District National Park, Forestry England - Whinlatter, and National Trust Lake District.

Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking for two cars on the drive. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
