Beckside is in Thornthwaite. It's a small, traditional cottage next to our house. You have your own entrance through our garden.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. You can bring one dog.
The view from the front is the main thing. You look right out at Helvellyn and the Causey Pike fells. You can see Skiddaw from the side. We get red squirrels in the garden quite often. If you're lucky, you might see an osprey flying over, but that's not guaranteed.
The cottage is right next to Coombe Beck. There's a little bridge at the bottom of the garden that leads straight into the forestry for walks. You don't need to get in the car.
Bassenthwaite Lake is about a ten minute drive. You can go sailing or fishing there. Keswick is two miles away for shops, places to eat, and the theatre. There's a pub about a mile and a quarter up the road. The bus stop is a few hundred yards away if you don't want to drive.
For facilities, you've got a woodburning stove, a TV, WiFi, and parking. There's bike storage if you bring them. The garden patio is yours to use.
