Oak Lea is in Keswick. It's an end-of-terrace cottage, built from the local stone. It's in a quiet street but you're only five minutes' level walk from the town centre. The house is on three floors. Every floor has a view of the fells, which is nice.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is en-suite. It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well looked after, the kitchen is properly equipped, and everything works as it should.
The stairs are a typical cottage staircase. They turn a corner and go between floors, so just be aware if you have anyone unsteady on their feet.
You can walk into Keswick in no time. There are pubs, restaurants, and the usual outdoor shops. The Theatre by the Lake is there if you fancy a show. Derwentwater is a short walk away. You can get boat trips from there.
For walking, you're right in it. You can start from the door. For a drive, Buttermere is about twenty minutes. Borrowdale is maybe fifteen. The Whinlatter Forest is about twenty minutes away for mountain biking or a different kind of walk.
Facilities wise, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's worth noting the rest of the house is over three floors. No pets, I'm afraid.
