Doddick Chase Cottage
Doddick Chase Cottage is in Scales, right off the A66 between Penrith and Keswick. It's one of a row of terraced cottages on a working beef and sheep farm. The view from the back, straight up the fell, is the best thing about it.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable but not fancy. The stairs are steep. It's over three floors. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath with a handheld shower.
There's a good sized parking area right outside and a picnic bench at the front which gets the sun all day.
You're well placed here. Keswick is about five miles away for shops, pubs, and boat hire on Derwentwater. Threlkeld village is just over a mile and has a couple of good restaurants. The nearest pub is about three quarters of a mile.
For walking, you can get onto Latrigg and Catbells from Keswick. The golf course is less than a mile away. If you want a family day out, the Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite is about ten miles.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stairgate if you need it. No pets.
