Fern Lodge is on the Burnside Park site, just outside Keswick. It's a pine log cabin, one of a few up there. The park sits right at the foot of Latrigg, so the views across the fells are good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. The bathroom was redone a few years ago. It's not huge, but it's comfortable. There's a big balcony that gets the sun.
You can walk into Keswick town centre from here. It takes about 15 minutes down a path, so you can leave the car. It's handy for the shops and pubs but you're away from the main traffic.
For walking, you're right there. You can start up Latrigg from the site, or Skiddaw is right behind it. Derwentwater is about a mile down the road.
Within half an hour's drive you've got places like Borrowdale, Buttermere, and Grasmere. The drive over Honister Pass to Buttermere is worth doing if the weather's clear.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. No pets allowed.
If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District.
