Field House Cottage

Field House Cottage is near Grange, in Borrowdale. It's just the one house up this track. You've got your own garden, walled in at the back, and it looks right out over to Maiden Moor. The view is really the main thing.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything's on one level, which is handy.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burner, which is nice in the evenings. The bed is a four-poster, and it faces the window so you wake up looking at the fells. The shower is good and powerful.

Outside, there's a private patio with a hot tub. It's enclosed, so it's just for you. The view from there is the same, straight out to the mountains.

There are a couple of pubs and a restaurant you can walk to, about a quarter of a mile down the lane. Grange itself is tiny. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Keswick. That's about four miles.

You're right in the middle of the walking here. You can step out the door and be on a path up to the fells. Derwentwater is close, down in the valley. You can hire a rowing boat from there. The Fairy Glen is a short walk away, it's a bit of a gorge with pools. It's a nice spot.

Facilities-wise: there's parking right outside, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
