Castle Howe is in Rosthwaite, in Borrowdale. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. That makes it easier if you've got anyone with you who doesn't do stairs. The views from the front over the valley are very good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well equipped. It feels solid and clean. You can park right outside. There's a porch for boots, which fits a couple of bikes if you bring them.
The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Bedding is included. We provide a highchair.
The place has a Smart TV, but just to warn you, there's no TV signal in the valley at all. It's for streaming if you've brought a login, or watching DVDs. The wifi is there so you can check routes or the weather.
Rosthwaite itself is small. There's a shop and a café about 200 yards away. The nearest pub is in the next village, about a mile up the road.
Location is the main thing. You're right in the middle of the fells. You can walk straight from the door. Scafell Pike and Great Gable are right there if that's your plan. For other things, Keswick is about a 20 minute drive.
You can bring one dog. We ask that they stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms.
