The Coach House
The Coach House is in Legburthwaite, right at the foot of Helvellyn. It's one of five apartments in the old coach house building, which belongs to Dale Head Hall hotel. You look out over a cobbled yard. It feels a bit separate, but it's not totally private as other guests come and go.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's very clean and well-equipped.
The main thing is the location. You can walk straight out onto the paths. Thirlmere lake is a few minutes' walk. For Helvellyn, you can start the walk from the door. It's that close.
Keswick is about five miles away for shops and places to eat. You can drive south over the pass to Grasmere and Ambleside, which is a good route. All within twenty minutes or so.
The facilities are what you'd expect: TV, wifi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a shared garden area with lake views.
