Lobstone Cottage is in Rosthwaite. It's a small, stone cottage right in the middle of the village. The fells go straight up from the back of the houses.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. The decor is simple. It's clean and it works.
The cottage is in a few of Alfred Wainwright's books. He drew it for his Coast to Coast Walk book. You're on the actual Coast to Coast path here. If you open the front door, people with big backpacks will be walking past.
There's a small garden out the back. It gets the sun in the evening. You can park one car right outside.
The village has a shop for basics and a couple of hotels that do food and drink. For a bigger shop, Keswick is about fifteen minutes drive down the valley.
You're in Borrowdale, so you're surrounded by walks. Scafell Pike, Great Gable, and the Langdale Pikes are all right there. For a less steep day, you can walk along the river Derwent to Grange or up to the Bowder Stone.
If you want to drive out, Buttermere and Crummock Water are about twenty minutes away. The Honister Slate Mine is up the road. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. The wifi works. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
