Brasscam
Brasscam is in Seatoller, right up at the top of Borrowdale. It's basically the last place before the road goes over Honister Pass.
The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've just had the ground floor completely redone, so the kitchen is new and there's a proper boot room for drying off wet gear. Underfloor heating downstairs.
The stairs are cottage stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow. Not great if you have trouble with your knees. The upstairs rooms haven't been touched in the refurbishment, so they're a bit more traditional.
They've fitted an electric vehicle charger outside. That's handy.
For walking, you can't really beat it. You can be on the fells in five minutes. The path up to Glaramara starts practically from the gate. Great Gable and the Scafells are right there. It's why people book it.
Derwentwater is about three miles down the valley. Keswick is seven miles away for supermarkets and shops. There's a pub, The Borrowdale Gates Hotel, within walking distance.
It takes one medium dog.
