This is Ghyllside. It's in Seatoller, right at the bottom of Honister Pass in Borrowdale. The views from the front are over the gill and up the valley. You can see why people call it the most beautiful.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is useful. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done up to a high standard. The refurbishment was thorough. Everything works well and feels new.
The stairs are fairly steep. That's just the way it is with these old cottages. The garden is yours to use.
For a pub, The Langstrath in Stonethwaite is about a fifteen minute walk away. They do their own food. The nearest shop is in Rosthwaite, which is a bit further. For a bigger shop, Keswick is about eight miles.
You're right in the walking. You can step out the door and be on a path. Scafell Pike and Haystacks are up there if you're looking for a challenge. For lakes, Derwentwater, Buttermere and Crummock Water are all within a short drive.
The Honister Slate Mine is at the top of the pass. You can do tours there. It's worth seeing.
Facilities: it has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a wood burner. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
