Ghyllside is a cottage in Seatoller, which is at the bottom of Honister Pass in Borrowdale. It's in a hamlet, so it's quiet. The view from the front is across the valley, with a stream called Hause Gill running past.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a very high standard. It was fully refurbished not long ago, so everything is new and works properly. It feels solid.
The kitchen has good appliances, including a dishwasher. There's a wood-burning stove in the living room. The garden is a patio area with furniture.
You're right in it for walking. You can step out the door and be on paths up into the fells. Scafell Pike and Haystacks are accessible from here. The Langstrath pub in Stonethwaite is about three-quarters of a mile for a drink or a meal. The nearest shop is in Rosthwaite, about a mile and a half away. For a bigger supermarket, Keswick is about eight miles.
The lakes are close. Derwentwater, Buttermere, and Crummock Water are all within a short drive. The Honister Slate Mine at the top of the pass is worth a visit if you're interested in that sort of thing.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a cot, and a highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
