Newlands Beck Cottage
Newlands Beck Cottage is in Braithwaite, a village in the Newlands Valley. The cottage itself is one of those old stone ones you see all over here. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is useful.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The rooms are a decent size, especially the kitchen and dining area.
The main thing is the location. You're right in the valley. The back garden goes down to Newlands Beck. We own the fishing rights on our half, so you can fish if you've got a licence. It's very quiet. You can walk straight onto the fells from the door.
Braithwaite has a shop and a couple of pubs. The Swinside Inn is about ten minutes' walk and does good food. Keswick is three miles away for bigger shops, cafes, and the theatre by the lake.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There's a wood burning stove. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed, sorry.
If you're planning walks or drives, these sites are reliable: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District. Keswick is a good base. Cockermouth is about twenty minutes by car. Borrowdale and Buttermere are both within half an hour for driving through or walking.
