Newlands Beck Cottage
Newlands Beck Cottage is in Braithwaite, the village at the start of the Newlands Valley. It's a good base if you want to get straight out onto the fells. The back garden leads right down to the beck.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. The rooms are a good size, especially the kitchen and dining area. It's warm and comfortable.
The Swinside Inn is about a ten minute walk away. They do good food. Keswick is three miles away for shops, the theatre, and the lake.
You can fish in the beck at the bottom of the garden. You need your own rod licence, which you can get online from the Environment Agency.
For walks, you can just head out the door. For more organised trips, the Lake District National Park site has good information. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here too.
What's here: parking for one car, a wood burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
