Laal Yan
This is Laal Yan, in Keswick. The name means 'little one' in the old Cumbrian dialect. It's a two-up two-down in a small terrace, so it's compact but it works. Sleeps three, with two bedrooms and a bathroom.
It's a few minutes' level walk into the town centre, which is handy. You can hear the River Greta from the cottage, it runs right alongside. There are views of the fells from the front and back.
Inside, it's been done up. The kitchen is modern but the rest feels like a cottage. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a small garden area and parking is provided nearby.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. The shower is electric. There's a local pub a short walk away.
You're right in the north of the Lake District here. Derwentwater is about a ten minute walk. For a longer walk, you can get straight onto the fells from the town. Driving, you can be at Borrowdale or Ullswater in under twenty minutes. Further afield, Wasdale and the western lakes are within a half hour drive.
