Bridge Cottage
It's Bridge Cottage in Keswick. Just outside the town centre, about a fifteen minute walk. It sits right by the River Greta, so you get the sound of the water. The garden backs onto trees, so you often see red squirrels and a lot of birds.
It sleeps four, across two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a proper woodburner for cooler evenings. We've put in Sky TV and broadband because it rains sometimes.
The cottage itself is quiet and secluded, but you can walk into Keswick easily. It's a level walk, no hills. The big benefit is the walking from the door. You can head straight up onto Latrigg, or towards Skiddaw and Blencathra without getting in the car.
On facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, on-site parking, and a patio garden. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
Keswick has the usual pubs, shops, and a cinema. For bigger days out, you're in the middle of it all. Derwentwater is a short drive, Borrowdale is just down the road, and you can get to Ullswater or Buttermere within half an hour.
