Apple Cross
Apple Cross is in Keswick. It's an end-terrace house on a quiet street, about a ten-minute walk from the town centre. You can leave the car.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms. You get two bathrooms, one on the first floor, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are worth mentioning: they're a typical cottage staircase, steep and a bit narrow in parts. The house is on three floors, so be prepared for that.
The garden at the back is enclosed, which is good for dogs or if you've got kids. There's a conservatory that looks out onto it. We've got a bike store round the side.
You're really close to Fitz Park and the River Greta. From the top floor bedroom you can see over the rooftops towards the fells.
Keswick itself has everything: pubs, restaurants, outdoor shops. The Theatre by the Lake is a good one if you fancy a show. Derwentwater is about a mile away for boats or a walk.
For walking, you're right in it. Latrigg is basically on the doorstep. Catbells, Skiddaw, Blencathra are all nearby. You can be on a path in minutes.
Facilities: all the basics are included, like bedding, towels, WiFi. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. We allow up to two dogs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the stairs inside are steep, so the rest of the house isn't.
