Manesty

Manesty is a bungalow in Applethwaite, near Keswick. It's detached and sits on a small private road, so it’s quiet. Honestly, the main thing is the view. You can see Derwentwater and the fells from the lounge and the garden.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There’s one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star, which means it’s comfortable and well kept. Because it’s a bungalow, there are no stairs inside, which is worth knowing.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy. There’s parking right there. You can bring two dogs.

Keswick is about a mile south. You can walk it if you want, but it’s a proper walk. The town has the usual shops, pubs, and a supermarket. Derwentwater is right there for a walk or a boat trip.

For a longer drive, you’re right in the Northern Lakes. Borrowdale is just down the road. The Whinlatter forest is about ten minutes away for mountain biking or walking. If you want the bigger hills, Skiddaw is right behind you and the Helvellyn range isn’t far.

The facilities are what you’d expect: WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. There’s a cot if you need it. We’ve got bike storage too.
