Alvamere is in Keswick, just off the Ambleside road. It's a terrace cottage, part of a long row. You're in a quiet bit, but it's only a three minute walk into Market Square.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, warm, and has what you need. The stairs are open and steep, like a lot of old cottages here. No pets.
Out the back there's a small, enclosed patio garden. It gets the sun in the evening. You've got a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. We can put a cot and highchair in if you need them.
Keswick itself is all there. Plenty of pubs, cafes, and shops. For a walk, you can be on the slopes of Latrigg in ten minutes. Derwentwater is about a fifteen minute walk from the cottage.
You're right in the northern fells. For a decent day out, you can drive to Buttermere or Borrowdale in under twenty minutes. The National Trust car parks are good if you're a member. Thirlmere and Ullswater are also about half an hour's drive away.
Useful links for planning: Lake District National Park and English Heritage if you fancy Furness Abbey, which is about forty minutes south.
