Upton Down
Upton Down is on the edge of Keswick. It's a quiet spot but you can walk into the town centre in about twenty minutes.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.
The house has a garden with a patio area. It's enclosed, so it's fine for a dog. We allow one well behaved pet.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. The wifi works. All the bedding and towels are provided.
Keswick has the usual shops, pubs and cafes. It's a proper mountain town so the outdoor shops are useful. The Theatre by the Lake is good if you fancy a show.
You're right on the doorstep for walks. You can start the Catbells walk from near here. Derwentwater is a few minutes away by car or a slightly longer walk. You can get the launches from Keswick if you don't want to drive.
For planning days out, the Lake District National Park site is the best place to look. National Trust Lake District has information on their places too, like Borrowdale.
Within half an hour you can drive to places like Whinlatter Forest, the Honister Slate Mine, or over the pass to Buttermere.
