The Coach House is up near Bassenthwaite Lake. It's on my land, but it's completely separate. You get the whole place and the patio to yourselves.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms downstairs, one bathroom, and the main living space is all up on the first floor. That's the bit with the big window. The view is the point. You look right out over the lake towards Skiddaw. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The stairs are fine, but they go straight up from the front door into the living area.
You're right on the edge of the woods. You can walk straight out the back onto trails. The Whinlatter Forest bike trails are a few minutes away. We get red squirrels in the garden sometimes. Ospreys fish on the lake in the season.
The nearest pub for food is about three miles away in Bassenthwaite village. Keswick is a ten-minute drive for shops and more places to eat. The Lakes Distillery is just down the road.
For a day out, you've got the whole of the Lake District National Park to explore. Cockermouth is about fifteen minutes away if you want a different town.
What's here: there's parking, a wood burner, WiFi, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are provided. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you need more space, you can book this together with Squirrel's Retreat next door.
