Jemima's Cottage is in Bassenthwaite, which is up near the north end of the Lakes. It's a small, traditional cottage down a quiet lane.
It sleeps up to five people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. There's a double room, then a second room with a double bed and a single bed in it. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's not huge, but it's comfortable and has everything you need. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than you'd get in a new house.
Downstairs is mostly open plan. There's a living and dining area with an open fire. The kitchen is through an archway. It's compact but has the main things: a cooker, fridge, and a dishwasher. There's also a washing machine.
The village pub is about a two minute walk. It does food. Bassenthwaite Lake is a couple of miles away, and you can see Skiddaw from the village. You can start walks right from the door. There's a wildlife park about five minutes drive away, and the Lakes Distillery is under ten minutes towards Cockermouth.
Keswick is about a 15 minute drive one way, and Cockermouth is about 15 minutes the other. Keswick is busy, has boat trips on Derwentwater, and lots of shops. Cockermouth is more of a working town. It has Wordsworth's house, Jennings Brewery, and a good market.
Facilities wise: there's parking for one car at the cottage. We include all the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The wifi works.
