Apple Tree Cottage

Apple Tree Cottage is in Bassenthwaite village. It's a terrace cottage with a garden. There's a big apple tree that gives you fruit in season if you want it.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It was fully refurbished a few years ago, so it's comfortable. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, a bit steeper than in a modern house.

The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields. We keep a bird feeder out there and you'll often see birds, sometimes red squirrels too. There's a gate at the bottom of the garden that leads straight to the village pub. It's about a hundred yards away. They do food and local ales.

You're in the northern part of the Lake District. For walking, Skiddaw and Blencathra are right there. The town of Keswick is about eight miles away, on Derwentwater. They've got shops, restaurants, and the Theatre by the Lake.

If you're after a day out, the Lake District Wildlife Park is about two miles away. The Lakes Distillery is nearby too, they do tours. Cockermouth, which is Wordsworth's birthplace, is also about eight miles.

What's here: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's bike storage. Sorry, no pets.
