Tarn Rigg Cottage

This is Tarn Rigg Cottage. It's on our farm just outside of Ormathwaite. It's under a mile from Keswick, so it's easy to nip into town if you need anything. It’s a part of a converted barn and there's another cottage next door.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, both with a bathroom. The master bedroom has its own shower room. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, living room. There's a wood burner stove for cooler evenings.

It’s got a 4 Star rating and it's been renovated. It’s clean and modern but you’re still on a working farm. You’ll see sheep and cattle around. The parking is right outside, and there’s a small garden space for you.

You can walk into Keswick in about twenty minutes, or it’s a two minute drive. There’s a pub about three quarters of a mile away if you don't fancy going into town.

Derwentwater is two miles away. That’s where you can go for a walk around the lake, hire a rowing boat, or just sit by the water. The fells are right here. Skiddaw, Blencathra, Latrigg - you’re surrounded by them. Catbells is a short drive.

Keswick has the usual shops, pubs, and a supermarket. The Theatre by the Lake is nice if you fancy a show. For a bigger day out, you can drive to Bassenthwaite Lake or over to Ullswater, both within about half an hour.

Facilities: it’s got WiFi, a dishwasher, TV, and there’s parking. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine too. No pets.
