This is 1 Harney Peak, in Portinscale. It's a two-bedroom cottage that sleeps four, with its own front door and a couple of parking spaces out the front.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been modernised, it's clean, and it works. The layout is a bit different. You come in on the ground floor, where the two bedrooms and the bathroom are. Then you go upstairs to the kitchen and living area. The stairs are fine. There are big windows upstairs so you get a lot of light.
You'd stay here for the location. Portinscale is quiet, but it's only about a twenty minute walk along the lane into Keswick. There are footpaths from the village down to Derwentwater. The marina at Nichol End is close, where you can get the Keswick Launch boats across the lake.
In the house you've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair if you need one. No pets, I'm afraid.
For walkers, the main Catbells path is just on the other side of the lake. You can drive round or get a boat across. For planning, the Lake District National Park site is useful, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the nearby land.
