This place is called Denholm. It's in Keswick, about five minutes walk from the town centre. It's an end-of-terrace cottage, built from the local stone. It's on a quiet street but you can easily walk to everything.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a show home, it's a practical family house.
From the upstairs bedrooms you get a good view of the fells. It's a proper Lakeland view. The back has a small patio garden.
The town has all the shops and cafes you'd need. There's a pub nearby. For bigger walks, you're right on the edge of the best bits. Derwentwater is a 15 minute walk one way, and you can pick up paths onto Catbells and the other fringes from there.
If you want to drive out, you're in a good spot. Buttermere and Borrowdale are within half an hour. The Lake District National Park website is useful for planning. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land too, like Friar's Crag.
For facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair. We can take one well-behaved dog.
The stairs are typical for a cottage. They turn a corner and are a bit steeper at the top.
