Brow Riding is a bungalow just outside Keswick centre. All on one floor, which is handy. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's recently been done up and everything is in good order.
The main thing is the view. The kitchen and dining area looks straight out over the fells. Blencathra, Skiddaw, Catbells, all of them. The patio is raised up so you get the full picture, and it's sheltered. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon.
Inside, it's straightforward. The living room looks out the front. There's a utility room with a washer and dryer, which is useful for wet gear. Plenty of parking for two cars, and there's a garage you can put bikes or kayaks in.
It's about a ten minute walk into Keswick town. So you can leave the car and get to the pubs and shops easily. Being a bungalow, the access is good for wheelchairs, though you'd want to check the specifics for your needs.
For getting out, you're right in the middle of it all. Latrigg is practically on the doorstep for a shorter walk. Derwentwater is a quick drive or a decent walk. For a bigger day out, you can be at the foot of Skiddaw or heading up Catbells in no time.
Within about half an hour you can drive to places like Ullswater, Honister Pass, or Buttermere. The Lake District National Park site is useful for planning. So is the National Trust for the Lake District, as they look after a lot of the land around here.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, bedding and towels included. The garden is enclosed. No pets, I'm afraid.
