Dalton Cottage

Dalton Cottage is in High Side, north west of Keswick. It's a detached stone cottage, so you won't have neighbours through the walls. It's got a garden with a patio.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and has good facilities. It's a luxury property. The floors are slate in places, so they can be cool underfoot.

You're right on the edge of Dodd Wood. You can walk straight out the door and into the trees. Red squirrels are common there. The RSPB has an osprey viewpoint up in the woods too, which is worth the climb if they're nesting. Bassenthwaite Lake is about a two mile walk downhill.

The nearest pub is in Bassenthwaite village, which is also about a two mile walk. It's a proper village pub with food. Keswick is about six miles away by car. That's where you'll find most of the shops, a supermarket, and places like the Theatre by the Lake. Cockermouth is about a twenty minute drive, it's good for a wander and has some food places.

For a day out, you're close to a lot. Skiddaw and Blencathra are right there if you're a walker. The Lakes Distillery is just over two miles away if you like that sort of thing. The Lake District Wildlife Park is nearby too.

The facilities are all there: wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right at the cottage. You can bring one dog. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
