Holly Bank is a bungalow near Bassenthwaite. It's detached, up a slight slope, so you get the view. It looks out over the valley towards the lake and Skiddaw. You can see a fair bit from the windows.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with that many. It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up well. Everything's new and it works. The stairs are fine, it's all on one level really except for a couple of steps into the conservatory.
There's a living room with leather sofas, a proper dining table in the kitchen, and another in the conservatory if you want it. The games room has a pool table and a desk if you need to work. There's a separate boot room for coats and wet boots, and dogs. Speaking of which, you can bring up to three dogs. There's a fenced area outside for them.
You've got two pubs about five minutes' walk away. The Sun Inn and The Castle Inn. Both do food and ale. Keswick and Cockermouth are about a ten minute drive each. Keswick has the supermarket and the shops by the lake. Cockermouth is good for a wander and has the Wordsworth House.
You're right near the osprey watch at Dodd Wood. Bassenthwaite Lake is a short drive down the hill. For walking, you've got Skiddaw behind you and the Forestry England trails at Whinlatter about ten minutes in the car.
In the house you'll find a wood burner, a BBQ, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking for a few cars. All the bedding and towels are there. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're coming with more people, there's another cottage called Osprey Cottage about 200 metres away. You can book both together.
