Swallow Barn
Swallow Barn is in Torpenhow, up near the Caldbeck Fells. It used to be a barn but it's been done up.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs, and two bathrooms which is handy. One bathroom is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's nicely finished and comfortable.
There's a wood burner in the living room. It works well. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. Sorry, no pets though.
The village is very quiet. There's a pub about a mile away.
You're right on the edge of the Northern Fells for walking. Keswick is about a twenty minute drive. Cockermouth is similar. Carlisle is half an hour for shops or the castle.
Hadrian's Wall is close by, maybe twenty-five minutes to some of the main bits like Birdoswald. You can get into Scotland in not much time, or over to the Yorkshire Dales in about an hour.
What's here: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one.
