Swallow Barn
Swallow Barn is in Torpenhow, which is a small village out towards the Caldbeck Fells. It's basically an end part of a converted barn. It's quiet here.
The place sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles. Two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. It works well. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too.
Outside, there's a garden at the back. It's enclosed. You can sit out there. Parking is right there on the drive.
The village itself is very quiet. There's a pub about a mile away. For shops, you'd need to drive to Wigton or Bassenthwaite.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Northern Fells. You can step out the door and onto the fells. For more of the Lake District, Keswick is about 20 minutes by car. Cockermouth is similar. Carlisle is about half an hour.
Hadrian's Wall is close by for a day out. The Scottish borders aren't far either.
Facilities: TV, wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, enclosed garden, on-site parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. No pets, sorry.
