Stackgarth is in Arkleby, which is just outside Cockermouth. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one floor, which is handy. You get your own bit of garden with a hot tub.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which helps with mornings. One's a wet room, which is good if you've got anyone with mobility issues. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. Everything's clean and works.
There's a pub about half a mile away. The shop in the village is two miles. For a bigger shop, Cockermouth is ten minutes down the road. It's a nice market town, Wordsworth's birthplace and all that.
You're well placed here. The Solway Coast is about four miles. Allonby beach is good for long walks with the dog. Silloth is a proper little Victorian seaside town further along the coast. You're only about twenty minutes from the edge of the Lakes proper. Bassenthwaite Lake is ten minutes away. Keswick is about half an hour.
If you're here with a bigger group, there are other cottages right next door that you can book together. They're called Halls Bank Farm and Berwyn Bank. They're on the same site.
Practical things: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
For planning days out, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and National Trust Lake District.
