The Costins is a semi-detached house in Allonby, built in 2007. It's modern inside, so it feels clean and straightforward. You get your own driveway and there's a lockable garage if you need to store bikes or things.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The stairs are standard, not steep like in an old cottage. Everything downstairs has wooden or hard floors, which is useful with dogs.
You're right in the village. A tea room is practically next door. The beach is directly across the road, maybe a one-minute walk. It's a long, sandy beach, good for dogs and kids. There's also a playground and a football field just over the road. The local pub is about 100 yards away, and a fish and chip shop is maybe 150 yards. The shop is 50 yards.
It's a good spot for the coast and for getting into the Lakes. You can see the Solway Firth and the Scottish hills from the beach. Maryport, which has more shops and places to eat, is about five miles away. The edge of the Lake District National Park is a ten-mile drive. Bassenthwaite Lake is about sixteen miles, if you fancy that.
For facilities: Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed patio at the back with some garden furniture. You can bring up to two dogs. It has a 4 Star rating.
