The Costins is our holiday cottage in Allonby. It's a semi-detached house built in 2007, so it's modern and straightforward. It's set back from the main road, but the sea is just across it. You can see the water from the front.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There's a good-sized double and a twin room. One bathroom with a shower over the bath. It has a 4 Star rating. The ground floor has wooden floors which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can have up to two pets.
Outside, there's a small enclosed patio at the back with a table and chairs. It gets the morning sun. You can park on the driveway. There's a lockable garage if you need to store bikes or surfboards.
The location is the main point. You're a minute's walk from the beach. It's a long, sandy stretch, good for dog walks or a paddle. There's a playground and a football field right there too. A tea room is about twenty paces away. The local pub is a hundred yards down the road, and they do food. There's a fish and chip shop directly opposite.
If you want to explore further, you're on the edge of the Lake District. It's about a ten-mile drive to the national park boundary for walking. The nearest lake is Bassenthwaite, about sixteen miles away. The Lake District National Park site is good for planning walks.
Maryport is five miles south if you need a bigger supermarket or more shops.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: a TV, wifi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All bedding and towels are included.
