Brodie Cottage
This is Brodie Cottage. It's our end-terrace house in Aspatria.
We did it all up a few years ago, so everything's clean and it works. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It has a 4 Star rating.
It's got a gas stove that looks like a wood burner in the front room. There's fast broadband and Sky TV. The back is a small, enclosed courtyard with a light. It's private.
Aspatria is a quiet town. There's a shop a few minutes walk away and a pub and a restaurant about half a mile. It's a good spot for getting to different bits of Cumbria.
The coast at Allonby is about ten minutes in the car. The Northern Fells of the Lake District, like Skiddaw, are about a twenty-five minute drive south.
Cockermouth is fifteen minutes away. It's a nice town for a wander, with some shops and cafes. Keswick is about half an hour. That's where you go for walking gear, or to get a boat on Derwentwater.
Parking is on the street outside. We include all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Pets aren't allowed.
If you're planning trips, the Lake District National Park site is useful. For local history, English Heritage at Carlisle Castle is about forty minutes north.
