Chapel House is in Dearham, in west Cumbria. It's a detached house, built for a mining manager, and it's on the main village street. It sleeps ten people in five bedrooms and has two bathrooms.
The rating is 5 Star, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's a big, solid house, not a twee cottage. The garden at the back is a decent size and gets the sun in the afternoon. It's enclosed.
The village has what you need. There's a Post Office and shop right across the road. The pub is a five minute walk away, and does food. The chippy is about the same distance.
You're three miles from the coast at Maryport. It's a working harbour, not a resort. The Lake District Coast Aquarium is there. Cockermouth is about four miles inland. It's a nice market town with proper shops, pubs, and the Jennings brewery.
For the Lakes, you drive east. You can be in the national park in about fifteen minutes. Keswick is about twenty-five minutes away. Bassenthwaite Lake is a bit further. The National Trust has a lot of sites around here, and the Lake District National Park authority site is good for walking routes.
Inside, the ground floor is mostly open-plan. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a utility room with a washing machine. The living room has a wood burner. The conservatory is good for spreading out.
We include bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on the drive at the front.
